Palmertown Range

The Palmertown Range of the Adirondack foothills encompasses over 40,000 acres in northeastern Saratoga County stretching from the Hudson River on down southward to the City of Saratoga Springs. Notable mountains in this range include Palmertown and Grant Mountains, as well as Mount McGregor, the site of former President Ulysses Grant’s Adirondack cottage where he wrote his memoir.

The Open Space Institute (OSI) and Saratoga PLAN have proposed constructing a 13 mile “Palmertown Ridge” hiking trail that would connect the City of Saratoga Springs with Moreau Lake State Park.
