Welcome

The purpose of this website was to experiment with the skills that I recently obtained from the Content Management Systems (WEBD 410) course that I took online through Champlain College in Burlington, VT. The construction of this mockup Moreau Lake State Park tourism site in WordPress primarily involved installing the Chap theme which I decided to further customize through creating an associated child theme. Various plugins were later added to embed Google and Open Street Maps on various pages of the site, as well as add accessibility features to help aid visually impaired users.

The reason why I selected the Chap theme is because it is based on the Semantic-UI CSS framework, which I am already familiar with from previous websites that I have built. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience being able to automatically generate the Semantic-UI grid system and select and drag various Semantic-UI components to the grid using the Gutenberg block editor in WordPress.
