Another Demonstration of my Web Development Skills…
This mockup tourism website of Burlington, Vermont provided me with another opportunity to demonstrate the skills that I recently obtained through both the online Content Management Systems (WEBD 410) and Web Site Design (WEBD 215) that were recently taken from Champlain College.
Before constructing this website, I designed a series of low-fidelity wireframes in Balsamiq Wireframes to plan out the layout for every page for this site. After this, I designed a more detailed, medium-fidelity wireframe of the home page of the site in Adobe Illustrator using a toolkit of components from the Semantic-UI (SUI) CSS framework.
Because the WordPress theme I selected, Chap, is based on the Semantic-UI framework, I was able to easily insert the various SUI components using the Gutenberg block system to construct the front-end interface of the site. For further customization of the default Chap theme, I created a child theme which uses a separate CSS stylesheet and some modified templates.
